But  wait a minute !  I don't believe  a  loving God sends
people to hell.
It is true God is a God of love.   He is also a God of
righteousness.  He is a God of law and order, without
which there would be no right and no wrong.  People could
just do what ever was right in their own eyes.  No
consequences means no control , no justice, no peace.

All of God's laws are for the good of man.  He gave us the
ten commandments as a guide to a long, happy, peaceful,
and productive life.   But God also knew that we would not
keep all of his commandments perfectly.  He wanted us to
know what real goodness and righteousness is.
Oh, OK so he knows I can not be perfect so why punish
me by sending me to hell for failing to be perfect?
For God so loved the world he sent his only begotten son, that
whosoever believed in him would not perish but have ever lasting
life.  God provided payment for your sin.  Jesus came and paid a
debt he did not owe for a debt you could not pay.
Jesus said "I am the way, the truth and the life.  No man comes to
the Father except through me."

Well, I believe Jesus was a good man, maybe a prophet, but not
the son of God.   Really ?  So he was lying or crazy ? That would
have to change his being a good man or a prophet.

Well, I believe there are many roads to heaven.  ? So you believe
Jesus suffered horribly and died on a roman cross because he
would not say he was not the son of God, the messiah foretold of
in prophecy, was all for nothing because there are many roads to
heaven?
Look ...... I  don't believe the bible is the word of God.

The bible was written over a period of about 1600  years by about 40
different authors, most of whom did not know each other.  It does not
contradict itself anywhere. It contains hundreds of prophecies that have
all come true in the time and manner foretold.   What are the chances of
this happening randomly? Hint , astronomical !

God made man in his own image to have fellowship with him.  He made
us  with the ability to choose .  He did not want robots.  He tells us "I set
before you life and death.  Choose life.  He said it is not my will that any
should perish, but that all would come to the saving knowledge of
Christ.  God is a righteous God who can not live with sin.  We have a
spirit, a soul,  and  a body.  Jesus said we must be born again.  This is a
spiritual rebirth.

Jesus said  "Behold,  I stand at the door and knock.  Whom ever will
open the door,   I will come in  and fellowship with him and he with me."

If you believe that Jesus Christ is who he said he is.   That he came to
die for your sins.  If you recognise you are a sinner and are sorry for
your sins and  want to be born again by asking Jesus to be your  Lord
and your Savior.

Just ask him to forgive you , then ask him to save you .  Go to this link
for more help.

Now follow him.  Ask him to help you find a good bible believing church
for you to have fellowship with other Christians who can help you to
grow in your faith and understanding of God and his word.
Counter
What God did...

Think of it this way... Imagine you're in a courtroom again, you're guilty of many
serious crimes. The judge says, "It's a fine of $500,000, or prison." You don't have
anywhere near that amount of money, so the bailiff begins to walk you out of the
courtroom when someone you don't even know appears. He runs up to the judge
with a check and says, "I've paid the fine for you." Now that the fine has been paid,
the law no longer has any hold on you. You're free -- because of the gift you were
given.

This is what God did for you by sending Jesus to die on the cross in your place. So
that you wouldn't have to go to Hell, God sent his only Son, Jesus, to die on the
cross -- suffering the punishment that justice demands. Then He rose from the
grave, forever defeating death! The Bible tells us, "For God so loved the world, that
He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on Him, shall not perish,
but have everlasting life." (John 3:16) If you will repent of your sins and put your
trust in Jesus, God says he will forgive all your sins and grant you the gift of
everlasting life. Just like the court case we just talked about, if you repent (that
means to confess and forsake your sins) and put your trust in Jesus, then you will
not have to suffer God's justice in Hell because the payment for your crimes was
made by Jesus on the cross.

If you're not sure what to pray,                           and make it a model for your prayer.
The words are not "magical," what God cares about is the attitude of your heart.
When you pray, it should sound something like this, "Dear God, I repent of all my
sins, such as (name them). I put my trust in Jesus Christ as Lord (to say Jesus is
your Lord means you are now making Jesus the master over your life) and Savior.
Forgive me and grant me your gift of everlasting life. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen."

Now read your Bible daily, and obey what you read. God will never let you down.

What should you read? We suggest that you start in the book of  "John," and then
read  "Romans." Whatever you decide to read, make sure you read every day.

We now suggest that you read
"Save Yourself Some Pain" which contains 10 very
important steps for new and growing Christians.
